Yesterday while we were enjoying having Cale home for a three day weekend, we received a phone call. Did we have time to come out to the farm and see the newest developments? Well, of course! We usually have a pretty busy schedule on Friday's, but it was early and we decided to take the kids and go.
And this is what we found!!!
Granddad had managed to trap a baby skunk! The baby's do not spray, so they tell us, so we enjoyed a close up look at the skunk!
I love L's face in this picture! This poor baby skunk is trying to get out of the cage. I am sorry to say that his future does not look bright!
While we were out at the farm there were many other things that had to get done. Of course getting chocolate out of grandmother's cabinet was the first. Once that was done, L had to sing his newest song to grandmother. He sang about how big and mi-ya (mighty) his God was and how they "sky is His handywork too!!" I love this age!!
Then we can never leave the farm without sitting on the porch swing with chocolate covered faces (and clothes!) and enjoying the simple pleasures of country life!
I am so thankful that my boys have the opportunity to see this side of life on a regular basis. They have enjoyed many things about the farm including jumping in mud puddles after the rain, eating "porn" (corn) from grandad's garden, and learning about all of the animals that they cross paths with such as stray dogs, cats, newborn kittens, cows, calves, snakes (dead ones!) and baby skunks!! Someday I will have to do a post about the farm.
i like this blog in the keen of my heart.
