Fall Line Up

Cale and I have a tendancy to be television junkies! We DVR everything and watch it after the kids go to bed. We used to not be able to watch shows together because I didnt like anything that was to intense or that might give me bad dreams. He didnt like only watching "girlie shows." So we started previewing things and we found a few shows that we liked. Most of them came on the USA cable network. We love shows like Monk, Psych, Covert Affairs, Burn Notice, and Royal Pains. Unfortunately, those shows are over for now. SO we have been previewing shows on the networks to see if there was anything decent to watch. Most of what we have seen in the past has been trash. That is why we like USA so much. They have good shows that do not focus on the bad. They are NOT perfect by any means, but they are better than most.
This fall I am looking forward to a few different shows that I previewed this past week.
Dancing With the Stars is one of them. I am not sure about Florence Henderson or David Hasselhoff this year. They seem kind of cheesy. Also, Bristol Palin?? She has obviously never had any kind of dance/performance experience. We will see how far she goes on the show. I dont know alot of the other performers. I am sure that Brandy will do well, and Jennifer Grey from Dirty Dancing looks like she might have some promise. Only time will tell!
After Dancing we always look forward to Castle. It is a police drama with enough comedy thrown in that it is not to horrible to watch. Rick Castle is actually pretty charming in the show and we all know that Beckett likes him and is only pretending to "put up" with him. The chemistry between those two characters is what keeps the show going. Hopefully they will keep them separated and the show will go on!

Mike and Molly turned out to be a cute little comedy! It looks really fun and of course I will support anything with Sookie in it! Sookie is a character from my all time favorite show Gilmore Girls. She has been on several shows since Gilmore Girls ended, but nothing has worked so far. This time she is actually the star of the show. We will see how this works!

We just finished watching Hawaii Five-O today from the DVR list. It was really good! A very fun show! Another cop show though!! My only problem with it is that it has that annoying brother from the Ocean's Eleven movie in it. He drove me crazy in those movies!! Fortunately, he is nothing like that in this show!

Blue Bloods looks like another good one! Even if it is ANOTHER cop show. Handsome Tom Selleck is in this show! It is about a three generation cop family. Very good! (So Far!)

I really got into a new show last year called The Good Wife. It is about a woman who stands by her man even after he is caught cheating on her. He is in a high profile postion. He goes to jail, and she goes to work as a lawyer. I like the characters and it has very little death in the show which is one of the reasons that I like it! This one is truly my show. Cale does not watch it with me.

Of course while I was looking for these pictures I forgot to add a few. The Office is always a favorite of ours. This season started off with a bang! Possibly one of the top ten funniest episodes of the entire series! LOVE THE OFFICE!
Another show that didnt air this week is called No Ordinary Family. It looks like a real life version of The Incredibles. I am anxious to see if it holds true to the PG rating and is family friendly. The kids loved that movie and they might enjoy seeing a real show if it is not to intense for them. They are just little guys! We are really excited for this show!
I told you that we watch way to much television! We really are busy and dont watch it every night. But when we are home we just hit the DVR button and off we go! How did we ever get along without a DVR? We are able to watch these shows so much faster because we can fast forward through all of the commercials! I know what you are thinking...go read a book! We do that too!

It's A Baby!!

Cale and I are proud to announce that we are expecting again! Do we sound just like the Duggars or what?? Maybe not that bad!!

We found out back in July, but were waiting to hear a heartbeat before we announced it all over the computer world! Even though we could not keep quiet to friends and family.

Baby #3 will be due March 30, 2011.

This appointment was significant to me because we were able to get an ultrasound! It was definitely a good thing because this little stinker was facing the wrong way and we could barely pick up a heartbeat with the monitor. I was sooo glad that we did the ultrasound first so that we knew everything was okay!
I am always amazed at new life and I never fail to remember Psalm 139.
"For You formed my inward parts; You wove me in my mother's womb.
I will give thanks to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
Wonderful are Your works, and my sould knows it very well!"
"Your eyes have seen my unformed substance; And in Your book were all written
The days that were ordained for me,
When as yet there was not one of them."
We praise the Lord for our new life! He truly works a miracle with each baby.

Success!!!

I thought that this was never going to be mastered by my youngest son!

As much as we tried, and we have been trying for a long time, he was just not interested! He would rather read the comics!!

I was always going to have that extra $10 added to my grocery bill to buy these crazy things!!

And then it happened! He had 5 days before he started preschool. I was fed up with it, and I knew that I was not going to be able to send him to preschool in Pull-Ups. So we had a very serious little talk about how he could not wear the Pull-Ups anymore. He was going to be in underwear from now on.
And that was it!!
He did it!!

L was potty trained in 5 DAYS!! It is impossible right? He did have one accident after that, but thankfully we were at home so it was easy cleanup! It has been 3 weeks now and he is doing great! I am soooo happy to have my 4 YEAR OLD finally potty trained! Don't ask me the secret, because I don't know! I will not be giving advice to anyone about potty training.
He is one proud little boy!!

Watermelons!!

August is watermelon season for us. Each year Cale's grandad grows a gigantic watermelon and we all go up and watch its progress. The boys love to see the big watermelon!

Grandad and the boys.

At the time of this picture, the watermelon was about 3 feet long. He has not picked it yet and it is still growing! Of course with this run of cooler weather that we have been having it is not growing as much as it was before. Watermelons love HOT weather!

They are attempting to put the watermelon on the scale to see how much it weighs. At this point it weighed 185 pounds. I think grandad is hoping that it will grow to 200 pounds!! That is like 2 of me!! (not really, just wishful thinking!!)

Here is E wanting to see the weight.

Cale and Grandad checking the weight.

After looking at the big watermelon, E had an idea. He was wanting to eat a melon right out of the garden. And he wanted to eat it while we were standing IN the garden! What is a grandparent supposed to do except say...sure!!

E also wanted a yellow watermelon! I think because we normally eat the red ones!

This was his idea of a good night!

The boys love going out to the farm. Notice that I dont have many pictures of L. That is because he spent most of his time playing on the four wheeler. That is also something that we have to do every time we go out to see the great grandparents. Also included is raiding grandmothers chocolate stash, having grandmother read a book or two, playing INSIDE (literally) the toybox, and sitting outside on the porch swing. The boys definitely have a routine when they go to the farm! We always have a good time!! Thank you grandmother and grandad!

First Day of School

I know that I am very late in getting school pictures up on the blog. We are two weeks in to the school year! The boys were so excited for the first day! It was so cute!
I love this picture! The way that L is looking up to his big brother!!

Mom, I needed a haircut before today!!

So happy to get to preschool!

This is what we woke up to at 6:00 AM on the first day of school.

L said that these are the faces that he was going to show his new friends when he gets to school!

Anything for a laugh!

L and B before school.

B playing with the toys.

So excited to be at school playing!

Since the boys both started school on the same day, we had to split up and each take one to school. Here is E at his school.

E in the classroom.

He is not our comedian. He is more quiet and just trying to take in the new atmosphere. He has done very good this year.

So far, we are adjusting to the new schedule pretty well. The boys are loving school and already learning so much!
